****We've decided to opt out of organic certification. This will in no way change how we farm, we will follow our mindful, organic, sustainable & holistic management of our food crops as well as with our animals - without the oversight & expense of certification. Certification is tedious & expensive for small farms where labor is already an issue, the decision to discontinue certification of our farm after 19 years was carefully considered before opting out. We will continue to focus on soil health, nutrient dense food & stewardship of the land. We are working on a longer video explanation of our decision & will post it here once its recorded. We're a small farm located in Gravel Switch, Kentucky in the Forkland Community of western Boyle County. Named after the Rolling Fork River running nearby, the farm was certified organic from 2006 to 2024. We are surrounded by rugged knobland, steep hollers & limestone creeks. We're just down the road from the beautiful town of Danville & we deliver farm goods across the Bluegrass from Louisville to Lexington.
Our produce is available in Lexington & Louisville through retail locations, Good Foods Coop & Rainbow Blossom Natural Food Markets & direct to consumer sales. Our ASH free, 100% grass-fed beef & our premium pasture raised, non-GMO pork is available through our online farm store & at Good Foods Coop on Southland Drive in Lexington.
Our focus is on growing high quality, fresh, nutrient dense food for our customers. Our soil fertility is maintained by rotationally grazing our animals, year round cover cropping & by incorporating worm castings from our continuous flow through vermicompost system to our plants. Field crops are watered from our onsite water source.
Each season, we open up the farm to interns and apprentices. Interested in a farm apprenticeship?
